I’ve been trying to get chia seeds into my diet lately, they are a great ingredient to detox your body and best of all the seeds naturally fill you up. When you soak the seeds they become gelatinous and thick, they stick to toxins in your body and carry them out as they leave you, naturally scrubbing your intestines… so what’s not to love? Because they are so gelatinous, they are the perfect add in to this mango shake recipe, blended together with frozen fruit and almond or coconut milk you’re left with a thick and creamy shake.

Makes 1 Creamy Coconut Mango Shake serving.
- 2 tablespoons chia seeds
- 1 cup Coconut milk (can substitute with Almond milk)
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ cup chopped frozen organic mango
- ½ teaspoon flaked coconut (optional)
Add the chia seeds, milk and vanilla to a jar, I like to use a jar with a lid but a bowl also works. Close up the jar and shake it well, if you don’t have a jar just use a small bowl, whisk together with a fork and cover with plastic wrap.
Allow the seeds to soak in your fridge for 8 hours (I do this overnight) shake the jar a couple times before you go to bed and a couple times in the morning before you make the shake. This will allow the seeds to better expand. If you bought fresh fruit use this time to chop and freeze the fruit.
When you’re ready to serve add the chia seeds in milk, frozen mango, and coconut flakes to a blender and blend together until smooth.
Serve for breakfast, lunch or as a snack.
